Water crisis as a result of climate change

Water is the building block of life. It sustains all forms of living things on earth.  It is impossible to live without water as it provides oxygen to our cells. However, do you know there are people out there that barely get any water to drink?

Africa has been suffering from extreme water crises since decades; people do not have drinkable water let alone other necessities of life. According to reports, billions of people in Africa do not get access to drinkable water due to extreme poverty and drought. They live in poverty, and there are ample of reasons leading to that, such as poor sanitation systems, tribal conflicts and lack of resources for clean water for children campaigns.

It is due to the latter reason that many babies are born dead because their mothers are malnourished. In some cases, mothers die during child birth because of dehydration, loss of blood and weakness. Statistics show that the infant mortality rate in Africa is 27.5 deaths per 1,000 births. However, the infant mortality rate has decreased. The credit for that goes to charities such as Orphan Life Foundation.

Orphan Life Foundation

Orphan Life Foundation is an international non-profit orphanage operating in countries in Africa and as well as India. They are committed to enhance the life quality of orphans by proving them access to clean water. Besides, resolving water shortage problems, they have programs like the Roof For Rookie project and African child learning programs that provide educational opportunities to orphans by providing them with school supplies.

Clean Water for Children

Orphan Life Foundation has a comprehensive program to make drinking water accessible to orphans in Africa. Although, Africa suffers from extreme drought and water scarcity, they make efforts to ensure easy access to water. They have a dedicated team of volunteers working tirelessly to secure clean water resources in order to prevent children from untimely deaths and life threatening conditions. Besides providing water in orphanages, they have various projects to ensure water purification.
